greetings everyone 8-)

just wanna know how everyone here feels about 7-Eleven (assuming we have been to this 24hr store before... anyone not been there yet?) because my spouse recently discouraged me from buying stuff from there, less the regulated price items (eg: fresh milk, bread, newspaper) namely due to price issues. just realized the MARS bar i bought was >$2... yikes!

Even a bottle of pokka drink costs $2 there.

I'd walk for another 10 minutes to the normal shop and get myself
the same one for $1.10

Save abit I guess.

Yup they do cost more than your average retail stores. I only buy things from 7/11 if there is no other alternative. I think Cheers also not much of a difference.

So for me:

Down for the prices.

Up for the fact that its 24 hrs and just across the road from where I'm staying.

I would buy from 7/11 if there are no alternatives for me. I buy those bottled promotion drinks for Yeo's and Pokka, 2 for $2+.

sure, the prices are steep, but not all shops are open 24 hours.

what if you have an emergency, say, you're craving for a MARS bar at 3am. all shops are closed except for 7-eleven and cheers. haha

i think perhaps during the day time, they should lower down their prices.

I only go to 7-11 if I want Mr SOFTIE ice cream or Slurpee; other than that, they are over priced.

Besides, the 7-11 in my area is rather pathetic. They suffer from competition with NTUC and Sheng Siong, which are built right next to it *lol* GG-fied.

But since they operate 24/7, the hike in price justifies for the amount of bills they have to pay to keep the foodies/boozies/drinkies chilled throughout the day and night.

Even so, I prefer Cheers because they always got the 2 Pokka Tea bottle for <$2 policy. I am lovin' it *oops*

Yups, been lovin' those junkies since middle school :) But over the years, due to lack of advertisement for these 2 items, 7-11 seems to have lost its popularity.

I remember the last advert I watched for 7-11 was during the SG Idol featuring Sylvester Sim and Taufik.

i only go there late in the nite to get something to drink or eat

usually i'll target those 2 for (insert price) stuff , haha .

They're giving jobs to poor students from China so us lazy bums can get a slurpee and topup the cashcard at night, I think they should be applauded.

Their prices are atrocious, and I find the outlets are only sensible for those intending their services after hours.. So why the hell not open at night only and still keep prices low?
I find it astounding that a simple bottle of mineral water can cost above $2, WHILE costing lesser at other outlets (NTUC can sell 2 1.5litre bottles of Ice Mountain at $1+).. Cheers is much better lah.. I mean, when the prices of the OFFERS at 7-Eleven cannot match with the normal pricing at Cheers, much less their discounted items, I believe that 7-Eleven is just a specter in our current lifestyle; always there, and approached only when needed.

The good things:
24 hours
Softee, Slurpee, Big Gulp are relatively cheap

The bad:
The prices can probably wake the dead with shock

the only things i get there are the big gulp. and maybe a slurpee when i feel like it.

but their promotions are not bad sometimes actually.

yeah. thats the only times i'd get anything from 7-Eleven these days. and the big gulps..

i prefer cheers because, like others have said, their bottled drinks promotions..

7-eleven are not only for big gulps and slurpeess...when I was younger back then...in times of emergency...it did sold those "Extra Protection" stuff.....hehehehe

well...a man has got to do what a man gotta do...better be safe than be sorry..

TEEHEHE. I was about to say that when i first read the post. Haha.

Besides all these, i realized that all the drinks are usually very chilled too. I love it.

They also have hotwater/microwave for your food. :)

my goodness.7-11 is like a legal scam.but its great that they operate at a 24 hours basis.Cheers cant be compared as they have mediocre pricing and they are not 24 hours.

But still i disapprove their ridiculous prices.maybe this is what you pay for living in Singapore.wont be surprised to see foreign 7-11 outlets to price their items at dirt cheap.
