Hey guys.
i've been playing the guitar for about 4 years now.
I would like to get a new guitar.
I'm just not sure bout what guitar to get.
I listen to bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine.
But yet i listen to stuff like Green Day and MCR.
What guitar should i get?
The Epiphone Les Paul Goth Studio was a consideration.
Suggestions?

I don't suggest the Epiphone.

Schecter and ESP make awesome guitars. Check them out at Guitar77 and Davis respectively.

Look for a proper amp too.

All this of course depends on your needs and budget. So tell us more?

Hey thanks guys

Alright.
Thanks for the replies.
I now have the infamous $200 ARIA guitar package.
im sure everyone knows about that.
I also do have the LINE 6 PODxt LIVE, its an multi effect pedal.
The guitar that i currently have, i just do not like the pick ups and i really do not think that it suits the genre im into.
My budget, bout 1000.
And oh, hear say that les pauls were good for almost any genre, including metal. So i was actually aiming for The les paul studio. Till i realised that EMG pick ups would be much better.
Any paticular guitars to recomend?

Okay, I'm assuming that you are playing metal. And to play metal, your amplifier and effects matter more than your guitar and pickups. So you might want to spend money on some good and high gain pedals.

Getting a guitar is like getting a girlfriend. You have to go around and "test" (i like this part) and see which one suits you :)

Most people would suggest an amp change since a beginner amp with the most expensive guitar would sound bad. I also see you have the PodXt. If you really don't wanna spend on an amp you can plug that into your comp to use. With 1000 you can get a decent guitar but if you go used, chances are you'll get a better guitar. For new however, i recommend the Ibanez S470.

How about MIK tokai les paul(love rock), affordable yet comparable to epip? I'm going to try one soon after my exams.
