3M Mounting Tape

Hello, I was playing with the 3M mounting tape and it really seems like moon gel. Has anyone tried using the 3M mounting tape on drum skins to dampen the drums? Does it cause any damage or works just like moongel?

When you 'mount' something, you want it to stick... I don't think mounting tape is a good idea, unless you don't plan to remove it.

Exactly. Besides, even if it could be easily removed, it's not reusable. And 3M products don't come cheap anyway, right..?
