congrats to Blind Seizure! (you guys were awesome) and Shane (sp?). Pity the two best bands tonight (in my opinion), Trella and Alvery, didnt win shit. I think I've lost faith in music competitions haha. Regarding the band that won, I think I'll quote Julian Casablancas "I've got nothing to say..."

haha...all of us were like Triad, Trella and Alvery for the top 3! or Trila! lol...but it was quite screwed. 1 song for both parts. but screw it...just combine 2 into 1. lol

Winners won probbly because of their friends' votes. So what do you people look out for when it comes to judging the bands? I'm quite suprised to see names such as Alvery and Triad in your nominated top 3. From what I've seen yesterday, most of the bands still have a long way to go in terms of musicianship

i think Alvery and Blind Seizure were pretty great yesterday! yea. pretty suprised those other bands won haa!

I feel that the most of the bands of the event need more polishing to their music, if talking about aspect of musicianship, i agree with chickmagnet, from what i have seen for the event is just friends supporting their friends band, then if boils down to judging level, theres is voting, even if the band just play simple music, they have lots of friends, then the competition is over, they sure win what. About musicianship, there is aspect of tightness, construction of the song, you cannot pull down a band that plays a slow classic rock like "Shane", hardcore bands or bands playing more heavy stuffs have nice riffs and nice parts to their songs but, tightness not there. A lot more need to be work on. My pick was "Shane" because firstly the piece they played, the vocals is a pain to pull off, secondly, playing so smoothly at that speed is not easy.

Thats my point of view. Hope you guys don't mind.

hey guys, it's not about the competition lah. it's just about having fun on stage. don't look at it that way.
don't take anything away from those other bands that played. if you don't really listen to their music then maybe it didn't sound tight to you.
plus it's pretty hard to hear ourselves on stage when we can't increase the volume. :?

so yup, but thanks for the comment Chickmagnet.
we will play the FFAF's songs tighter next time.
