2 Key controller to 1 Sound Module.

Mostly, sound modules today only have 1 MIDI IN, After Roland made the SC55 ( i think) with 2 MIDI IN. Nothing came out like this.

Can a MIDI Interface (like M Audio USB Midisport 2x2) be use to control 1 Sound Module by 2 Keyboard Controller?

Cause im planning to buy one, but confused if MIDISport 2x2 or M Audio Merge 2x2 can do exactly what i want.

Confused with specs from this site http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/midi.html

Seems to me MERGE is what i need, but is there really any diffrence from MIDISport?

One more thing, Sinamex only have the MIDI Sport.

Hope to hear from you. Thanks

I'm using a Korg X5DR. Keyboard can be anything with MIDI OUT. Thing is, this can save me the hassel of bringing my keyboeard to gig, Since most of the places i play, I always request for Roland RD and any synthesizer with MIDI OUT. Layer some patches in COMBI, some, to be controled by RD, MIDI chan 1, other patches controled by Synthesizer on MIDI chan 2 or whatever. Im getting a JV1080 soon and planning to use same method.

Ive done this using Roland SC 55, the one with 2 MIDI IN. now, i need to know which MIDI Iinterface can do this?

Thanks.

Normally, no. You can only do it while connected to the computer and through software.
