Asian Beat is one of the biggest amateur band contests held throughout many regions in Asia. It starts out from Area Heat in participating countries and regions. Each winner at Area Heat finals can proceed onto the Grand Final, where they will perform together on the same stage and compete to be the top of amateur bands in Asia.Yamaha Corporation started this event as "Band Alert" in 1998, renamed to "Asian Beat" in 2001.

In the past years, worldwide famous players were the judges such as Nathan East, Wes Borland, Tommy Aldridge, Sonny Emory, Billy Sheehan, James LoMenzo and Akira Jimbo. The upcoming fifteenth Asian Beat competition-Asian Beat 2012 shall unfold in 11 regions and countries. The finalists shall meet in Singapore in November for the Grand Final. The fortunate audience will have the chance to hear 12 bands in competition - the 11 Asian Beat finalists and the one Russian finalist of band competition organized by Yamaha Russia as a special guest. Hi,

it says on the registration form that you should have your own instruments made by Yamaha or use the Yamaha ones provided at the venue. Our tuning is dropped c and it is really hard to tune down instrument which is in normal tuning so would you provide us instruments with dropped c tuning if we cant use our own?
 
Yamaha Asian Beat Band Competition 2012 Free Registration period has been extended till 12 August 2012.
