As above.

Personally, I would rate Joe Satriani's Crystal Planet as my all time favourite/best instrumental album, followed by Neil Zaza's Staring at the Sun.

:D

Hmm

Actually I love all of Joe Satch's album, esp when he stills keeps his long hair. I salute him for breaking the norm & shaved it bald :supz:

Vital Tech Tones - VTT2. Scott Henderson's control is superb, plus the rythmn section of Victor Wooten and Steve Smith, nothing can beat them.
followed closely by Vernon Reid's "Mistaken Identity" and Neal Zaza's "Staring At The Sun" (Steve Smith played drums in there too!)

Vai's firegarden..ok so the second part has singing but first part is all instrumental.. does that count?

my fav, instrumental album, featuring 2 lethal players at work:

Nice. :D

Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny - Beyond The Missouri Sky
Tortoise - TNT
Wes Montgomery - Movin' Wes
Herbie Hancock - The Headhunters
Ennio Morricone - Cinema Paradiso OST

Vai's "the 7th song"
followed closely by
Friedman's "Scenes"
followed closely by Malmsteen's "Rising Force"

can't wait to check out Andy Timmon's cds!

lol... listen to vai and satriani all day for a few months until sian liao...

now when i see the term "instrumental" i'll think of pianos or orchestral stuff...

currently like all the FF sound tracks and piano collections...

i think most, if not all of them are composed by Nobuo Uematsu... quite good...
