Programme Partner: Heads Up!

*SCAPE’s CONCERT SERIES celebrates the crème de la creme of established local, regional and international music talent in a monthly showcase presented by *SCAPE. It is where established talents are celebrated. Aspiring musicians need music role models to look up to and who better then artistes that have done the hard yards to be at the top of their industry game.

As part of the lead up to *SCAPE’s official launch programme in June, the FRANK GAMBALE ELECTRIC TRIO will perform in Singapore for the very first time this May, in an exclusive showcase.

Known as ‘The Grand Master of the Sweep Picking Technique’, Frank Gambale was born and raised in Canberra, Australia. He began playing the guitar at age 7, and was influenced by the blues playing of Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall / Eric Clapton, and the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. In his mid-teens he discovered Steely Dan, The Brecker Brothers and Chick Corea, which pointed him in a jazzy direction.

Joined by Stu Hamn on bass and Joel Taylor on drums, Gambale will perform a live set at THE WAREHOUSE, *SCAPE’s new swanky performance theatre. He will also explain his world-renowned rock/fusion guitar style, covering everything from his own custom tunings, double-neck playing approaches, and of course, the dazzling sweep-picking technique he pioneered that has made him a global guitar icon.
