Resonance in room

Hi all,

I make music in a home studio. i used to use headphones for mixing and i recently bought a pair of monitor speakers. I noticed that when a certain frequency is played (135Hz), there is what i think is resonance in my room. it sounds louder than eg. 130Hz or 140Hz and there seems to be more vibration.

Correct me if i am wrong, but i think that this can be corrected by using acoustic foam?

I am on a budget and i've checked out the cheap acoustic foam from vicoustic at esden in sim lim which is recommended on this forum. it looks similar to the MD55 on vicoustic's website
http://www.vicoustic.com/music-broadcast/products/acoustic-treatment/absorption
However, it is rated to be good for high frequencies and 135Hz isnt exactly high frequency.
do i need to get a bass trap?

Any recommendations as to what i should do/buy to solve this resonance problem?

Hi, probably some acoustic treatment could solve the problem,

you can contact this local company www.auralaid.com

They have good products for cheaper price, than vicoustics or auralex, etc.

And its a local company, they can come to your place and advise what is best for your room.

Cheers

Thanks! I've looked at their range and it's definitely more expensive than the vicoustic panels that can be found at esden. I'm not too sure about their performance for my problem frequency though. Does anyone have other recommendations?
