there are ppl who strum their bass but not the whole song or whole riff for most.

john myung does strum his bass to get the "tone".
eh someone mention useing their fingernail to replace the pick. yeah dats wat he did to strum the bass.

eh another thing is actually getin chords.

just like guitarist strum a C key. why can't bassist do the same?
but bassist provide the low end so we dun really do it...

if it fits the song why not?
just imagine whn larry graham first slap his bass. i'm sure there are ppl who say he's spoilin the song.. but look at the history he had created. .

haha strumming? u can strum major thirds, they sound very harmonic on bass with the right EQs =)
