800 will secure you a pretty good guitar, I recommend you cruise through soft for second hand gear OR get it from evilbay. The prices in shops around here as I have noticed, are not exactly delectable.

I'd take the mockingbird if i were you. Warning though, it *IS* acrylic, and hence weighs more than an epiphone Les Paul (You read that, the unchambered ones)

Not really too fond of those, but thanks for helping me! In the meantime, maybe i'll just wait for new gear to pop up.

I would say invest more into an amp to play metal.. Strat into a fully pumped up Randall will still sound metal..

Ibanez RG series fit well, but beware of their bridges. A swap for a Gotoh would do wonders..

I am currently using a Roland Cube 15x. But i can't get a new amp right now. So I'm currently buying a new guitar because my last one fell from a guitar stand. Sucks anyway.

800 can also get you a rally with the mods.. I heard the VR extreme is suitable for heavy music... you can also get an epiphone les paul standard.. or SG...
