general remarks for Marshall amps:
1. MG series
*100% solidstate technology
*smaller wattage/ driver sound quite synthetic (less the Mini Stack- superb!!)
*12" driver models/ head- fantastic clarity/ overall performance
2. AVT series
*featuring a pre-amp tube in pre-amp section
*difference in drive voicing compared to the MG counterpart- more midrange warmth, treble not too piercing
3. FULL valve series
*100% tube pre-amp/ power amp sections
*in general, these sound more appealing at higher volume levels
*drive voicings- valve dependent, may not be appealing for high gain applications (selected models), needs EQ tweaking to prevent ill-definition.
*accepts mild-drive pedals more readily than the other 2 counterparts
