Lakland vs Fenders

Hi all!

I know that lakland basses got their inspiration from fenders however I searched the forums and there isn't a comparison. So I was wondering, could anyone give their opinions on the two?

Lets be more specific... The price range would be around 1.5k-1.7k and Jazz position pickups OR at least compare using the same styled pickups.

Thanks alot! This will probably influence my next bass too :D

which lakland and fender are you looking at? lakland skyline is built in Indonesia by Cor-Tek which actually produce indonesian ibanez, squier, epiphone. All Laklands are Pleked though (supposedly for lower string action), IMO lakland skyline is better than MIM fender in terms of play-a-bility (tried both before), MIJ fender is okay, mine is a pbass though.

fender is just fender IMO, you either like it or hate it, it is that familiar sound of the jazz bass, warm toned.

Looking at your price range i think your choice will be the lakland skyline vs fender MIA, if i were you i will just go for the MIA fender just for the reliability and consistency factor.
