Headphones into Amplug Metal Or any high gain stuff

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD218 headphones. Issit a bad idea to plug it into my amplug metal? Will the high gain degrade the headphones over time? if they do, wat kinda headphones shld i get? thks for reading

Err, I don't see what your amplug gain settings has to do with it as long as you listen at a reasonable volume. Think about it... metal songs at low volume, or acoustic indie pop at overblown volumes more likely to damage your headphones and your ears

You will not damage anything by listening to metal...
Its the vol that kills.

Listening to metal through good headphones is a must.
Accept no substitute. METAL LIVES!!!

In passing: I feel that the sound shape of 218s is not suited to Metal.
HD238 is open though.

nah, most probably not at all. but the amplug metal will degrade your hearing after a while because it sounds so terribly awful!
