Haven't read much about pintechs... Like the fact that they come with Roland modules and all mesh heads.
Wondering if their pads would be too bouncy, cos its like just the mesh with no foam underneath from what i see...

Yamaha DTXplorer - $1552 (sale price about 1,199)

Yamaha DTXpress IV Special Set - $2996 (sale price about 2,385)
DTXPRESS4_SP_PLUS_SET_L.jpg

DTXpress IV comes in another set as well, more basic, that costs lesser, check luthermusic.

plus,
last time I check swee lee bb last set TD-3 was approx. 2300

do note that sale price was according to yamaha's 'promotional' sale that has offers for most of the items and prices do change overtime.

Medeli DD506: $960 at Ranking

I tried the display set, not very responsive, I dunno...
I'm a noob but I dun think I'm supposed to hit the hi-hat and cymbals tt hard for them to trigger...
How to play softer notes like tt?

Maybe their set just screwed up, anyone owns one of these?

Fellas,

I just saw a e-Drums set in a new shop called "Traps" at a new shop next to Rhythm House (Mark Boatman's) in Excelsior. It used Mesh for all, including Toms and snares and uses Muted Cymbals and hats I had a go at it and I find that just by the feel of the drums, it beats the other edrums (including Roland TD9) flat. Because, it uses actual sized drums, it also looks much more aesthetically pleasing and the mutes all have different tones.

I dont know much about the Traps drum module though BUT to me, the top of the line is the DDrums module, followed by Roland higher-end TD series (9 and above)

Personally, I feel that Roland's V-drum series (with the overhyped mesh snare pad) is over-rated. Mesh produces a better feel than rubber pads anytime and muted cymbals produces way better feel than rubber pad-cymbals anytime.

Muted cymbals? I took a look at the website, the cymbals are plastic and rubber, was expecting real cymbals and a rubber trigger pad over them...

Oh Oh! They have a model (E500, pic above) which comes with a Roland module, full mesh heads with Roland module :D. But...
I've heard bad reviews on Traps, somewhere else on this forum.

Did you see how much they're selling for?
Bad quality can be forgiven for cheap price, sometimes :p
E.g. TGM guitars, mega-cheapo, bought mine for $50.

Thx for the info!

Hmmm - I could have swore that it was real cymbals but maybe I got confused with their acoustic set. Sorry - old age creeping up :)

I cannot remember how much it retails for. You can try calling them or go down for a test drive.

Saw the new Roland TD-4 (in the box only, no display) already in at swee lee today going at $2,050.

Oh man, rolands are EX >.<
Thanks for the info.

Oh, I found a free drum app for phones, acts as a drum beat composer, can use as metronome too, just set a bar of 4th or 8th beat timing, it'll just loop non-stop.

Phone must be of some standard at least...
