can audio be extracted from ads?

need some help over here, i am looking to do some ad portfiolio's but currently do not have any video of ad's that are without the audio.

is it illegal to extract audio from an ad and then input my own audio in?

is extracting audio from an video ad even possible?

The usual question that follows THAT question is "are you using it commercially or home use?"
MAkes a LOT of difference whether it's the former or latter, u know? :wink:

You either (a) Need a powerful enough software (like SONAR) to import the video file of the ad and then isolate the audio file, OR (b) use a sound recorder function to record the audio in real time and then save it.

I guess if you're not gonna sell your work or anything then feel free to leech... (But integrity and originality are issues for me )
