Come down for a free beginners’ bass clinic on Saturday, 06 Oct at Anaki Records and have a chat with Bani. Conducted by Bani Abdul Rahman, who has has collaborated with well-known musicians such as Tanya Chua, Art Fazil, Brinal Chua, Blindspot, Stoned Revivals, B-Quartet and Taufik Batisah, this intro clinic is great as an orientation class for bass enthusiasts.
Electric Bass Guitar Clinic Outline:
• Bass Talk – 4/5-string, pickups, fret board, tone & volume knobs, amps, tuning the bass, understanding intonation and setting your tone
• Playing the Electric Bass – posture, fingering exercises, fret board notes, listening skills, time keeping, consistency and dynamics
• Role of a Bass Player – performing, recording, playing in time, locking with a drummer, the rhythm section and the bass clef
• Music Input – understanding major and minor, scales, spelling the chords, various basic grooves, eight notes rocks, building melodies on bass, and different groove patterns for funk, pop, rock & jazz
