hey guys...

Im in a dilemma.. ive started keyboard on february and learned some cool stuff long the way.. but i want to learn more.. my direction is contemporary and i want to learn from scratch with proper guidance..

Currently i am very fascinated by all the keyboard shredding stuff in planet x for example..

i am using a korg m50
thing is.. where should i go towards for lessons? a school or a private tutor..as i know some schools dont teach this kinda crazy keyboard stuff.. but then again.. i want to have a good foundation on basics..

so educate me...

thanks much.

Shredding from guitar to keyboards eh, Dhalif? :)

You're right about basics. Same thing you would do with your guitar. Start from scales (major, minor, chromatic etc). Then arpeggios. Right hand and left hand separate. Then eventually together. You need to train a different set of hand/finger muscles from guitar playing. No difference from guitar - hard work and practice. Can't become Jordan Rudess in a day :).

As for other "crazy" stuff involving pitch bending, mod wheeling, aftertouch, and effects manipulation, leave them till later.
