About Riki Hendrix
about.jpg
Riki Hendrix is a talented guitarist, composer/arranger and high energy seasoned performer.

Born and raised in San Bernadino, California, Riki grew up in a home that was filled with sounds, classical music and jamming jazz musicians. When he was 12, his father gave him his first guitar, but when a friend intro him to "Machine Gun", a song written by cousin Jimi Hendrix, Riki realized his music had become a soul matter.

He practiced diligently, and became at one with his guitar. He formed his own band and played in clubs, casinos, hotels, and performed live concerts throughout the United States. He has toured in Asia, Europe and Canada and his powerful live performances have always received great reviews.

Riki, also joined forces with Buddy Miles, drummer and Billy Cox, bass player (two original members of Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsies) as they toured the country performing tribute shows to the late Jimi. Riki feels that their performance at the Woodstock festival, Bethal, New York, was on of the highlights of his career.

Also Woodstock in Singapore 2003 Summer of Love concert, Riki took the stage with his children choir and 4 piece rock band, performed his new song - Children of Tomorrow, and left his audience spellbound. In 2004 Rock Festival, Riki opened for Deep Purple in Singapore, 7000 rock fans screaming more. Riki played unbelievably. The performance left Singapore fans screaming for more.

As a composer, Riki states, "If I could paint a music canvas, it would be a blend of passionate red for the heart and soul of Jimi, vibrant yellow for the dramatics of Pink Floyd, and Mediterranean blue for the brilliant orchestrations of Yanni.

Riki's 1st CD, The American Dream, featuring Buddy Miles and Billy Cox is pure and raw talent at its best. This original piece of music by Riki is considered by critics to be music that is missing from today's market.

Here are some of the Recording artist that Riki Played with:

  1. Riki play with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles and Slash the guitar player form Guns And Roses in Chicago at Buddy Guys Club Legends, 11/12/1993.
  2. Riki played at the Jim Hendrix Birthday party in Vancouver Canada at the night club Richards with Buddy Miles and Riki other cousin bass player Henri Brown, you can watch on YouTube.
  3. Riki was with Al Hendrix and cousin Leon Hendrix and many famous musicians such as Erney Isley, guitar player for the Isley Brothers band and Vernon Reid, Guitar player for Living Color Band. When they gave Jimi Hendrix at The Walk Of Fame a star on Hollywood Blvd.
  4. Riki was on the TV show Soultrain with a band called The Booty People, produced by BB Dickerson, the bass player from the band called War. That was the year Riki met Buddy Miles at a recording studio at Far Out Productions where producer Jerry Goldstien ask Buddy Miles to set in on the album Riki and the Booty people was recording we were sign to record label ABC Records.
  5. Riki Played with actor Steven Segal on stage at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Thailand 1996.
  6. Promoter, John Paul Jones flew Riki Hendrix to Alanta Georgiato perform a 4th of July out door concert to play with the former Drummer, Mr. Bob Burns from the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, it was at a lake called Altoona Landing, 1999.
  7. Riki played with cousin Leon Hendrix and Buddy Miles at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Diego calif 6/12/2002. Buddy miles was in a wheel chair then because of his health but when he got on stage to played drums like no one he was the best rock funk drummer.
  8. Riki went to Bethal, New York to play Woodstock with his new Fusion band, what a show that was! Everyone was spelled bound at Riki and his new band: Mark Leach, best Hammond B3 organ player, he was playing organ for the Buddy Miles band; Doug johns on bass and Chris Ceja on Drums. It was Riki's best Fusion band 1997 Woodstock. Riki will put on YouTube some video clips of that performance.
  9. Riki got a promoter to invest in a first time Woodstock festival in Singapore 2003 which was outstanding performance that riki put on which won him international acclaim and respect from the Singapore rock promoters and fans.
  10. Riki also was judge for the Steve Vai guitar competition in Singapore where he met Steve Vai's bass player Billy Sheen.
  11. Concert Promter, Ross Knudson from Singapore, asked international super star Guitar hero Eric Johnson if Riki could perform 2 songs with him on stage on Eric's last song for a oncore. Riki was amazed that Eric was so kind to let Riki perform with him that was on heard of it was amazing performance with Riki and Eric they played so well together the audience went crazy when Riki and Eric played double lead together with the amazing tones they both had on their guitars and you can see the respect that they had for each other. What a show, thank you Eric from Riki Hendrix.
  12. One of Riki best performance was when he was asked to play guitar for his very first opera concert when international super star opera singer Emma Shaplen needed a guitar player for her concert in Singapore. Because she needed a guitar player, it was Ross Knudson who i am thanful for getting me to perform my very first Opera. Thank you Ross from the bottom of my heart. It was such a emotional concert with Emma amazing voice and she turn around and look at me to say you can take your guitar solo now. I looked at her and then took a look at the audience and something came over me. I played one of my best heart feeling emotional guitar solo i ever played. She looked back at me with a smile and the crowed went crazy and when the guitar solo was over the audience gave me a standing ovation. I will always remember that moment in life. After the concert was over she said that was an amazing guitar solo. She gave me a kiss and signed her name on my 1971 Fender Strat Guitar thank you Emma Shaplen. Sincerely, Riki Hendrix.

Bro FGL - YOu mean --- at SBCS 4th Gig - 26th MARCH - - (15) - 9.00 to 9.25pm - ( Reserve for GUEST BAND ) or Riki Hendrix

Bro Eric .. yes ....

However do note that while Riki is in S'pore he is extremely busy with meetings for upcoming events & stuff for Asia / Oceania region... timing I can't 100% confirm but I spoke to him and he said OK and that he supported our cause ...

I will try to bring him to Tanlin CC at the aprox timing of the guest band slot. He said he would make an apperance but how many songs, which line up etc etc all havent confirmed.

Dealing directly with artiste easier than dealing with management ... however, he might have contractual agreements here & there with his rec company so some issues here & there I might have to jaga ....

Important thing is that he is willing to come down, maybe play a few songs & talk to the bands about music, life on the road, record deals etc etc
