Emu sounds on software!

Now we can get the Emu sounds using Dimension from Cakewalk. Hardware slowly moving into software. Also, this is a great deal - Cakewalk is offering free Dimension download for both Mac and Windows by simply registering the purchased Emu module - probably for a limited time.

OK. More info. This is literally the entire Emu Proteus hardware series into software.

That means now we have Proteus 2000, Virtuoso 2000, Mo 'Phatt, Xtreme Lead, PX-7, and Planet Earth on software! Requires Cakewalk's Dimension LE to run, which is a free download at the moment. And because Dimension is a VSTi/RTAS/AU plug-in, you can run it on any DAW, not necessarily Sonar.

This is the end of Emu hardware modules. I don't think Korg/Yamaha/Roland will follow suit, at least not yet. If they start doing that, then it's truly the end of hardware.

The emulator x is the only software that does the z-plane filters. These were what set emu modules apart from the others.
