Hi guys recently i just got a new zxt medium thin crash cymbal from fellow softies. It don sound good as compared to the one i use in yamaha. Has it got to do with the room and acoustic?

yup, generally cymbals and drums sound different in different acoustics situation, i.e. room sizes and sound acoustics. IMO, it does sound a little different if you are the one playing the drums and hearing the drums being played from a distance, especially the cymbals. Generally, the higher end cymbals sound great in many different kinds of acoustic situations while the lower ends like the ZXT don't.

The thin stuff for most brands sound good with the high end models, on entry lvl it just sounds "thiney" not a well spead decay.

Hey but ZXTs come as standard on some kits, and all zxts haee that kind of sound.

Just my opinion that Paiste pst3 or 5 would have better attack, bell and decay. But I still like the Zildjian dark stuff better.
