Hi All

I'm Zul Legion. I'm quite new in the singapore music industry. Basically here to find more opportunities playing gigs and performing all around the island. Do hit me if there is performing opportunities. I am playing instrumentals.
This is the story of my journey...

Started guitar when he was 14. Zul Legion started his music journey with his band "Legion"

Early 2011, Zul Legion decided to go solo as there was more than just metal. He wanted something new and more.

It all started from a dream. It was a late night as he just finish chilling out with friends and gossiping about illuminati and the middle east. He slept and had a dream.

In the picture was 3 pyramids, red skies and a hill.
On the ground, there was a battle going on.
On the hill there were the four horsemen.
In the middle of the battle was a large man on a big horse.
He was the "Prince of Egypt".

While this dream was going on, there was a tune. A tune that was stuck in his head while the dream was going on.

He woke up and first thing he saw was his "Ibanez" guitar. He picked it up and started playing the tune. There was his first instrumental song title "Egyption Legacy".

Zul Legion next composition is about the story the "Prince of Egypt".
Few nights, he was disturbed by a series of different dreams that had the same guy in it. It was the "Prince of Egypt".

Do stay tune for more Zul Legion upcoming album "Prince of Egypt".
Do stay tune for Zul Legion upcoming shows too.

No offense but don't you find writing about yourself in the 3rd person perspective awkward or the least bit cheesy?

As a solo musician I think you'd need to be slightly more dynamic to carry the song cause the phrasing isn't the only emotional aspect of the the music.

Don't you think you are very rude?

I'll love to see/hear you play, cos you make yourself sound like you are a damn good musician to go around putting other people down.

Wutt. You don't have to be a musician to appreciate music. When I listen to music I listen to it firstly as a music enthusiast, and from that perspective you can tell that from the pieces on his soundcloud, the variety only comes from the phrasing. When you add dynamics you can't only hear the note, you can feel it and in a transient manner understand it. When I used to listen to Greg Howe and Eric Johnson you can tell how each individual notes convey meaning. Nowadays I listen to plenty of post-rock which is all about dynamics as well and you can tell how each portion of the song tells the story.

In an instrumental where there are no lyrics to provide depth to the song, it's the sole instrument that has to fill the huge void.

And yes, I was rude regarding the third person perspective part. But again in my opinion it sounds too cheesy if you are introducing yourself from a third persona. If someone is introducing you then it's perfectly fine. Just imagine if, say your name is John and you keep referring to yourself as "John feels upset, John thinks that it's perfectly fine, John is perplexed". You'd raise an eyebrow or two. In this case presentation (how you advertise/sell) yourself is the most important aspect to attain listeners in the first place. If they feel irked by the presentation then they might not listen to your music and you've lost the privilege to entertain a possible listener, which is a risk I'd rather not take.

Hey Zul,
Great you are looking at History and what has transcended - tyranny, greed, corruption, power and the abuse of power. Conspiracy theories or not, it shows you are either outraged/concerned or plain disappointed with sheeple..

People are missing the point of your compositions. Go all the way back bro, write about the Sumerians, Assyrians...
Keep writing and don't let anyone stop you.

Good luck and be safe. Don't put your head out like Alex Jones.
