hello people...

i need advice. now yamaha having sale and there's like 15% off for students. my budget's really tight after i've blown it all on my pedals. as i'm looking for a crash and a china to add on to my kit, the people at yamaha advice me to get the ZBT expansion set at only $195.95 after discount. they say ZBT sounded much better than ZXT and ZXT Titanium. My budget is only $200 and it seems that the ZBT fits in nicely.

so users of ZBT, kindly leave me your testimonial on them.

thanks peeps.
=)

Don't.
Just don't. Zildjian ZXT, ZXT Titanium and ZBT are simply horrible. I would suggest you to hold back on your money, and just get professional line cymbals one at a time. By doing so, you will never have to upgrade it and it will last you forever. The sound is also undeniaby superior.
Crashes and chinas are considered 'secondary', so to speak. Make sure you have a nice set of timekeepers (ride and hihats), then buy the 'extras'.
Another thing I must stress is that the Titaniums are total gimmick. They are beginner's cymbals priced at cast cymbals prices.

Good idea. It's a beautiful cymbal.
Ever considered Sabian cymbals? They tend to run at a lower price (Ah, Sweelee).

If Zildjian cymbals comes in packs like Sabians AAX, AA, HH, HHX, that are available in Swee Lee, its a different story.

Since the only option lies with Sabian, I'll stick with them for a long period of time.. Buy purchasing any line of cymbal packs from the Sabian series, U'll be saving $$$$ compared when U buy each cymbals individually..

The only Zildjian Series available in packs sold Spore are the Planet Zs,ZBTs, ZXTs pro/rock and ZXTis.. What abt A customs, Z customs, Ks, or K customs? What abt Paistes high end series? None?.. hurhurhur

I'm not a brandwhore but if its value for money, i'll stick to Sabians.

DING DING DING.

sabian's cymbals cost is more reasonable, for zildjian, the cost for it is like, u can buy a brand new drumset, zildjian is high end cymbals but people now like sabian more ar ? the days of zildjian is ending. haha I myself using zildjian ZBTs, I got no complains

For your info, both companies produces high quality cymbals.

And so does the rest of the cymbals manufacturer (Paiste, Meinl, Bhosphorus, UFIP, Saluda, etc)

The days of Zildjian and any cymbal companies are never gonna end. They will still produce high quality cymbals. And that's for sure..

If U are using ZBT, thats a good beginners cymbals. My advice, save $$$$ and get better Zildjian range. If U are a Zildjian lover.

cymbals

dude, I have used sabian and zildjian cymbals for years. use a sabian man. its more worth it. and test the sound for yourself. hopefully u can test it with as much volume as possible. check the range too.

actually I don't really thinks that cymbals are being choose in brands, I believe to use my ears to do the talking. its the sound and not the brand you are choosing though ...

Dats true.. a very true statement..

Other than that factor of choosing a cymbal bcos of sounds and not bcos of brand, the money factor is also a plus..

U want to compare Sabian HH series or Zildjian ZBTs? Now, which one is better? Paiste Signature series or Sabian B8s? Which one is better. OF course those in the higher quality line wins hands down!!

After considering the quality, next most important is the $$$. If u have enuff $$$, buy it, if not, sctratch head, dig pocket, etc.. how?

Dats why I posted that Sabian cymbals that comes in Packs are value for money.. Be it from the B8 series to the HH series. Wat abt the rest??

Go figure..

what i really think is its up to youe personal sound that u want to achive....
i am using a zxt china and splash for gigs and pratice and they are good...
i tried at the hh sabians but that was not the sound what i wanted.......
so before buying ask urself what u want to sound like.........
CHEERS man

i agree on the word that ZXT , ZXT titanium and ZBT cymbals sounded like crap. I own ZXT Rock set, given by my friend cos his neighbour manages zildjian cymbals artiste (drum clinics, i think). But i really love the ZXT rock hi hats. It has the clear "chick".

I own a ZXT titanium flash splash too, and the sound is superb. really. I've tried ZBT, IMO they sounded worst than ZXT..

if you're going for Zildjian, get A custom or K. worth it.( I own A custom cymbals)
If you're going for Sabian, HHX,Vault and AAX. worth it.
