Zildjian Cymbals

Where are Zildjian cymbals sold? My friend told me that Sweelee has them, but the last time I checked I think I only saw Sabians.

Also, how good are the Z Customs? Are the Z Custom crashes better than the AAX-Xplosion crashes? Or are there any other Zildjian cymbals that are better or equal in quality as the AAX-Xplosions?

I'm relatively new to Zildjian cymbals, and I plan to test them out. I'm having a hard time deciding which cymbals to go for though... zildjian, sabian, or paiste? :S

I'm getting a kit at the end of this year after my O levels, I wanna decide on which kit and what cymbals I plan to have now :P

Hi Mr. Mouse,
Cymbals are very personal and is up to each individual taste in music. As far as Z customs are concern i believe is more rock music oriented...

Alternatively, do your own research Mr. Mouse... Its really not effective to post a question like tat n even if pple respond to your post are all based on our own personal preference.

Is like... "Oh... I swear by Zildjian man!!! Any other brands are just crap..." or "THere are no cymbals better then Sabian... You will not go wrong with it!" Or "Paiste is simply the best..." So with such personal comments that are bias driven... I can be very sure you will be even more confused. Basically there are only 2 groups of pple... There are those who love to have one brand for all their cymbals and there are some who love to mix n match with different brands of cymbals. It really boils down to your preference dude... Firstly, ask yourself what type of music u r into and what kind of sound u r looking for... The genre of music u r into will more or less determine what cymbals u will be looking for...

Its actually very very easy... just go to all the cymbal makers website and check it out... u get to sample how the cymbal sounds like too!! It's a rough gauge but the sound file is pretty close to the actual cymbal. U can listen to all the cymbals range until ur ears bleed! There are tons of reading materials as well to give u a better understanding what genre of music the cymbals are made for...

Enjoy your search bro...
Cheers

Thank you very much lummer for the detailed post!

I shall do that from now on!

By the way, I play mainly metal and rock.

I hope you don't mind me being a little straight forward... But its really for your own good and education as a drummer. It is always best to know it yourself then just second guessing others opinion...
Metal and rock!! Cool... There are lots to find out from the cymbal makers websites!!
Enjoy researching...
