Hi I've been playing guitar for sometime so recently I switched from a strat to playing a lespaul but i get shocked (literally) everytime my elbow lands on either the bridge or the tailpiece! Quite puzzled why this is happening since I did not experience this in the past!

Has anyone experienced something similar and if so is it most likely due to the guitar hardware? can it be fixed by a luthier? Any comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks

your amp is probably not grounded properly. does it have a three pin plug?

Nope VidaK, my cable's a two pin plug end, with the other end connected to the amp (marshall mg15) internally. the two pin plug looks something llike this: http://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/S1079471056/2-pin-Plug.jpg

is there a way to ground it then?

at the back of your amp there should be a grounding point / screw. if there is, you can connect a wire from the grounding point to a ground.

I worry that you might wire my suggest incorrectly (e.g. wire the amp's ground into a live source at home), so please read up more regarding how to ground your amp online
