hey people! any of you when y'all are jamming kena zap by the microphone? how the heck to prevent that or what to do, can anyone tell me?

thanks much!

It's likely the equipment is not grounded. If you're at a jamming studio, tell them about the shock and they should fix it up. It's not nice to zap your customers :)

I got zapped slightly by having the lip hit the tip of the mic. Dod you get zapped when holding it or same situation as me?

it's static rite? I got it alot of times at Boons. Quite common i guess due to the cold temp. You can get static at Sweelee at Sims Drive too. Alot of times!! OUCH! =P

i think many jamming studio got that problem. but the worst i got is at studiophile. my back up vocalist keeps getting zapped to a point that he developed a phobia on microphone.

doesn't this topic make you realise how much all your lips come in contact with the same thing? :P

EEEeeeeeewwww :D
Haha I kena before. Sucks.
Imagine you singing halfway kena zapped and u squel or ur pitch suddenly go up haha.

Hmm.

I try and make it a habit to use a microphone cover in jam studios. I've yet to inculcate the habit of tying a bandanna over the mic so as to preserve some oral hygiene. :?

i kena before~~ about two-three times around where the switch is
lips / mouth... nope..
i kept thinking maybe my hands were too sweaty or something :?

I've been to four studios here in singapore, Guitar 77, Fusion X, Four Tones and Tiet. None of them zap you.

It's nothing to do with sweat or anything :) There should never be enough electricity running through a microphone to give you a shock. And if there is, it's probably not grounded. And that's something the studio can fix.

*LAUGHS*

OMG Boon is so notorious for zapping!

Yea dudes! my band got zapped so bad, that we spent the rest of our jamming hours playing our songs minus the vocals! seriously it was a bad first experience for my band la.
