Is it suitable to play Metal with this guitar? Or play any Metallica stuffs?..

Any guitar with EMG 81s played through hi-gain distortion will make u sound like Kirk.. Dont forget the Wah pedal cause thats THE essential man...

Woooooooooooooo

Zakk's rebel guitar is beautiful! Especially when its all burnt and stuff.

Ima go set my RG on fire too!!!! wahahaha jk jk.

It really is beautiful. Like Vai's BBQ'd universe.

ok thanks ill keep that in mind.. but does anyone noe wad distortion he use mainly to play fade to black intro solo or riffs like seek & destroy? the only thing i know is he likes to play most things in DropD..

no no the old metallica songs never use drop D (dunno about st anger, maybe they do, but im not a big fan of that album)

original fade to black is standard E and the live version is standard D# at most.

fade to black intro solo is kinda overdrive i think, on the neck pickup, the emg 81

81 in the neck too bright in the neck IMO. Its a great bridge pickup, with lots of crunch on distortion, but way too bright in the neck. If you like a bassy neck pickup, go for 85 and if you like a bluesy kinda sound go for a 60 (which i prefer). And then there's an 89 which you can coil tap, but i dunno much about it.

Yup.. Kirk uses EMG81s for both neck and bridge.. Also James and Kirk uses Mesa Boogie's Mark series amp for the older studio albums and for live situation they uses the Tri-Axis to get their distortion..
