Your views on this amp.

I am planning on getting a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb reissue, just want to check what you guys feel about this amp. I am a pedal user and i dont need alot of volume. My major needs are great clean tones and a good reverb. From some reviews this amp does suit my needs however is the price worth it? Can i get something else just as good or better in the same price range or slightly more expensive. It be great if you guy tell me where i can get a great deal off this amp. Thanks.

I've got this amp.

I love it..

However, you have to crank it up pretty loud to get it to drive...

then you won't need any pedals.. haha..

But it is a lil loud lah.. pedals go pretty all right with it... Cleans stay clean pretty much.. you've got to get it pass 5 on the vol knob then it starts getting dirty..

At home I only get to play it a 1.5 (Vol knob) before the wife screams at me.. heh.. but let loose on the weekends..

Pros: It sounds good, looks good, its pretty loud, and when its driven naturally it's amazing..

Cons: I find it heavy to carry about, no master vol knob (which is useful for bedroom playing), the Intensity thingie pretty useless to me, and also it gets noisy when you push the reverb up too much.. I'd keep that to below 5.

where can i get it from? any idea i know they have some fender amps at sweelee but their always overpriced

Have you considered the Hot Rod Deluxe or the Blues Junior? They are not "name" amps but they will give you what you want. Good loud cleans and can be made even better with speaker swaps.

I have considered Blues junior however from what i read they give a impression that they lack the Fender sound.

WTS: Fender '59 Reissue Bassman or '64 Virbroverb

I have the above 2 amps that are really great. The bassman '69 is in lacquered tweed and goes for S$1800 and the vibroverb is going for S$3600.

The Hot Rod is not a "name" amp? Dude... it's one of their top sellers... AND a kcik ass amp to boot! Just a bit loud for my usage...:mrgreen:

Someone is selling a USA-made Blues Jr with quite decent price. Just check the "buy and sell amp" thread. I think he also sells vintage Fender head.
