YES! Chris Broderick joins Megadeth!

holy HarrisonYeo is glen is out? jeff was supposed to be the early megadeth guitarist ha,but marty gt the role . now it's chris's turn eh! see how is it gonna be for the next album

chris broderick's work with jag panzer is awesome! great great guitarist. it's amazing how megadeth gets all the good guitarists: mustaine, marty, poland, pitrelli and now chris.

btw jeff loomis is great too, and he plays LTD guitars through line6 pod! look at the kinda tones he can coax out of these gear.

No way this is happening! Why Chris Broderick? He's more of a progressive guitar player..

He's more deserving in Nevermore.. I really like him so much, but why Megadeth?

Hmmm... Chris Broderick? Okay... I'm not sure how his style fits into Megadeth... I think he's really a much more technical player but his work leaves me cold... also find his material pretty standard fare, other than the outstanding technical prowess.

I always thought Megadeth sounded best with soulful, unique leads - Chris Poland, Marty Friedman, Al Pitrelli and even Glen Drover did it.

I guess Broderick Sir will have quite a bit to cover...

If you think back to when Marty joined the band, I think there was maybe a lot of similar thinking since Marty's style at the time used quite a lot of exotic scales and other weirdness that we wouldn't normally associate with Megadeth requirements in the lead department.

I think it's a testament to the versatility of these top players that they can turn their hands to most genres and stamp their individuality on them while at the same time fitting in nicely. I've a Jag Panzer album and as well as being technical, chock full of ripping shred and so on, it's also very melodic, controlled and yes - soulful. :)

I am *very* excited. :)

hmmm... okay man, i'm putting my jumpy heart down just because ya said so! ;)

Regarding Marty, well... I thought I saw a similarity, a "flow", when moving from Poland onwards... there's uniqueness there...

The Megadeth forums are jumping up and down for this. Some like it and some don't. I feel that Mustaine will not have someone whom he thinks may jeopardise the integrity of the band and the stuff they write. While everyone will continue to miss Marty, every other lead player brought in had brought something different. To me, at the end of the day, Megadeth will continue to be Megadeth. If Mustaine is no longer in Megadeth, I'll just listen to Good Charlotte or something....NOT! Hahahaha.
