Hi

I just bought a yamaha thr10 amplifier. I experienced quite a loud buzzing noise while tinkling with it for 30min. Below are the points.

2 pin plug
amp giving out buzz relatively loud
hand touch metal handle of the amp, buzzing subside, hand can feel electric shock
hand touch guitar string, buzzing slightly subside. electric guitar string feel electric shock!!

Definitely not ok especially with the current running around the metal parts. can especially feel the current with the more tender side of my body (inner arm).
Could this be a lemon, or is it just a grounding issue. Should i get back to the distributor.

Thanks

Sounds like a grounding issue, change your 2 pin plug to a 3 pin plug, problems should go away.

Is the power supply model: EADP-38EB A?
I tried this amp and had the same loud buzz.
Yamaha in some countries seem to have replaced the adaptor with another model due to the problem.
But the ones I saw in the shop still have the adaptor they say was causing the problem.

Try changing to a 3-pin plug. Might just solve it. Or check if you're running too many power supplies at any one time.

Hi guys

Thanks for the comments. I had changed the 2pin to 3pin after confirming it won't void the warranty.

Now the buzz is gone, and im enjoying and exploring this little package.:)

Great to hear that it's fixed.
Though mine is still 2pin and i'm too lazy to change it.

How you go on with the electric current running rampant??

Anyway anyone knows if changing guitar pickups will reflect well with this small amp? AFAIK only big tube amps can reflect properly to the change

it's not about tubes, it's about smaller drivers (speakers) not being able to manifest the change of pickup voicings...
