I bought it as a used, damaged guitar from Guitar Connection in 1990 or earlier (can’t remember, but when GC was at the Ming Arcade). It has a repaired crack (a crack, not a break) across part of the neck to the headstock but it doesn’t impact playability. I have enjoyed this guitar for many years playing mostly unplugged during break hours at the office, but it’s time to let this baby go ….
Gibson L6-S electric guitar, S/N 501850, Year 1974 or 1975, natural maple gloss body, maple w/ebony neck, 12” radius, 24 frets, Gibson tulip tuners, “chicken head” 6-position pickup selector switch, Bill Lawrence super humbuckers. All electronics work. All parts original. Comes with its original Gibson hard shell case with yellow interior (alone worth at least S$200 I think).
The guitar's 'varitone' switch allows you these 6 options :-
1. Neck + Bridge = series, in phase
2. Neck alone
3 Neck & Bridge = parallel in phase
4. Neck & Bridge = parallel out of phase
5 Bridge alone
6. Neck & Bridge = series, out of phase
Gibson L6-S are very versatile and endorsed by Carlos Santana, John McLaughlin and Al DiMeola. Check it out here >>> http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/gibsonL6S.php
