Made in the legendary Matsumoku factory, designed by Nobuaki Hayashi the SB-R80 is now considered the rarest of these great Aria basses of the 80's having been in construction for only a few years and this version with the oval cats eye fret markers is rarer still.
This gorgeous bass has a neck-through ash body construction, a 5 piece maple/walnut neck, 860mm scale, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, two MB-II pickups with "noise-killer" circuit, two stacked volumes and tone controls, two “dual sound” coil taps, brass nut, and die-cast bridge/tailpiece unit.
The craftsmanship is high end and the sound is very "Alembic" like, as was the intention.
I bought this bass from a dealer in Tokyo who only handles vintage Japanese instruments and if you look around the bass forums for Aria followers you will see that they are looking for this model.
SGD 1500 - make me an offer.
