Looking to sell or trade PRS CE24 EMERALD GREEN, upgraded Seymour Duncan 59's on bridge and neck position, three way toggle switch. Playability is top notch , sounds great and looks great too in stunning green flame top finish. Cosmetic condition is about 7/10 as this being a player's favorite guitar - thus there are some wear markings on body and neck but nothin major (no wood chipped nor serious dings) . Original hardcase will be provided too in the sales

As for trade i'm open for MIA Fender, good acoustic guitars, gadgets e.g. Samsung Galaxy Note, iPad 2, iPhone 4s,etc

PRICE $2K NEGOTIABLE FOR CASH BUYER - SPECIAL PRICE IF CAN DEAL BY END OF THIS WEEK

Seriously? He's a reseller and expect him to buy something and sell it at a lower
price? He may have gotten the guitar with stock pickups. And there's also a special
price, which I believe that it can push the price down by quite a fair bit.

Reseller? You mean he is a known profiteer? Is this allowed?

Stock pickups to Seymour Duncan's also considered downgrade not upgrade, and IF he got with stock pickups it means he got it cheaper than $1500 with the WCR set. In any case now that softies know the price he got it for, softies should know how much to offer.

Commentator: Why do you have to be price police? i bought my stuff at lower price doesnt necessarily mean that i am oblige to sell it even lower. Likewise, if you bought a Gibson for $500 would you sell it at $300 ?

ep.tjan is right that he can sell stuff for whatever price he likes. :-)

But Commentator should also have the freedom to state facts - his first comment is just objective truth (though his second comment might have crossed the line - perhaps because he was responding to keithtan's incredulity.). And I think more than a few SOFTies will thank him for it. Nobody likes a profiteer (even if the profiteer takes on business risk etc). That's just human psychology.

And there's some blowback isn't there, in today's world, against people who don't turn their hand at honest labour, produce nothing of worth, except to manipulate and exploit markets and prices and their fellow man? Just look at the investment banks. We should question if this is a good way to organise society. Individual rights (e.g. to buy and sell at whatever price, etc) do not trump societal ills - if smoking is detrimental to society, we can restrict its use. And similarly - if certain professions are parasitic to the honest labour of the rest of society - we can argue that steps ought to be taken to restrict them.

Not accusing you of the above ep.tjan, just explaining why people don't like profiteers even more so today than in the recent past. :-)

And also - if you're trading guitars as a (even if small) business, maybe you should check if James is fine with it? Just as a courtesy. If he minds, it shouldn't be hard to come to some commercial arrangement, I guess.

I for one am glad that fellow SOFTies can whistle-blow on fakes, over-priced items, etc. (though in this case - it's nothing serious - because there is no fraud going on, and ep.tjan's price is not crazily unreasonable, e.g. more expensive than a brand new piece) Freedom of speech should be acceptable and defended up to the point it infringes the seller's rights, e.g. unfounded accusations, personal attacks, etc.

I don't think anybody is wrong here. Cheers to free pricing and free speech (within limits such as fraud, libel, etc.) I'll shut up now and go play my guitar.

Seriously, What's with the 'price-police-ing'...this issue has been hanging around too long...

Simple law of economics; Go spend some time and educate oneself instead of trolling around others' post.

Are you saying that profiteering in soft is allowed and even encouraged? Alerting fellow members to profiteering is discouraged and even disallowed?

Haha. I guess if you know EP Tjan personally, you will know that he doesn't need to get profit from this. His personal collections are amazing!

In my opinion frequent GASer/Trader/Buyer/Seller like EP Tjan including me, tend to put the price slightly higher with the openness to nego. Because we know very well that there are tons of lowballers in the forum :)

When I was trying to sell my Gibson Studio at 600, some guys even offered me 350.

commentator = buster = multiple account holder

I've sent a report to James. Hopefully his IP address can be tracked down.

Then you will not get an offer from people who think like me, who don't "lowball".
And yet you will let a lowballer negotiate.
So I guess good guys finish last in SOFT? Since the lowballer gets the gear he wants, and the one who takes listed price (or does not wish to offend by offering a price far below what's listed) is penalised.

It's not a good incentive system to reduce the amount of lowballing going on. What you guys can do to reduce lowballing is to list a firm price, and reject all lowballers. Then reduce the price if there's no demand.

We can build a better market culture in SOFT together. :-)

Eric is a great person to deal with and an even greater person to know.

Its one thing to want to alert someone about a fake/ selling of a spoilt product. But whether someone is out to make a profit or not, how the hell is that your bloody business? Use your free time and go play your music or shit in your pants or something. Do you walk into cold storage and tell the salesmen that the can of coke is $1.35 but you will not buy from them because the vending machine at your void deck sells it for $1? No. The salesmen probably wont give a damn or will be wondering how to reply your retardedness. If Eric chooses to sell his PRS at $9 million, how will it change your life? Not happy : don't buy. Simple concept. No one forces you. So don't make a scene out of something that doesnt concern you.

So many clowns out there nowadays. Too expensive = Rip Off. Too cheap = Defect goods. Now we have a new level. Make profit = wrong. Seriously you jokes earned my laughter. Congrats.
