Hi everybody, I'm putting my Ibanez Jem 10th for sale in hopes of funding a Gibson. The guitar is stock but does not come with a Jem case or cert. The guitar comes with the trem arm, manual, spare parts and Jem 10th trem stop. 1996 SKB hard case included but its very old.

Guitar has some wear on the clamping portions of the nut, slight oxidation on the screws etc and some wear to the autographs. There also seems to be an imprint in the finish from the case on the bottom of the guitar near where the bottom autograph is. Chrome on the pickups are 95% intact. Frets are 99%

This guitar can be collected/tested at my place in the East Coast and has been setup with D'Addario EXP coated 9-42 strings.

May I suggest customising an existing Strat body with a Warmoth conversion neck? That way you get the gibby scale. If you prefer a fixed bridge, either block the trem or get a new warmoth body.. :)
Pros - much more comfortable body contour, lighter overall weight, simpler controls, compound radius neck, SS jumbo frets etc (more customisable neck specs to your needs).
Throw in a six in line Planet waves auto-trim machine heads and make string changes easy (good with a tilt back neck). Straight headstock, go for Sperzels locking staggered machine heads so that you dont need a string retainer.

Better still get a roasted maple neck (it's cheap now) for that fantastic raw feel. I'm not promoting Warmoth, just letting you know your options. You can do the same with a USACG conversion neck as well.
Just my 2 cents. Have a great day!

I really appreciate the advice and I know that will no doubt yeild an awesome playing guitar with the Les Paul tone that is easier to maintain etc. Great advice tbh for anyone looking for a versatile workhorse guitar that kills.

I'll admit I'm a complete sucker for the Gibson brand and have always been since playing guitar. In truth, the only reason I want a Gibson is for the way it looks and the "cool" "heritage" "made in USA" "guitar heroes used them" etc haha. I have an Edwards all lacquer Les Paul that plays like a dream, came stock with all the upgrades I could ever want and sounds killer but my stupid emotions tell me I still want a Gibson haha :O

I got a feeling that in the end I'll probably just end up with a Les Paul Studio or something instead of the cherry sunburst standards I've been craving

I see. Well, good luck finding a good quality gibby and if you can, try out a USA PRS SC for comparison.
