Hi,
this is a very versatile interface which has 16 input channels - 8 are XLR (Class A XMAX preamp), 6 are line, and 2 SuperChannels (XLR/Line), each featuring a vacuum-tube preamp, 80Hz HPF and analog compressor/limiter with LED for signal input & gain-reduction metering. There is 48V phantom power for all XLR input channels (total of 10).
There are midi-inputs, and there are also 2 FireWire ports so daisy chaining with other devices is possible.
There are 6 output channels.
Summary of Input/Output:
2 FireWire 400 ports
2 combo XLR/¼” mic/instrument inputs into SuperChannels
8 XLR mic/line inputs
6 balanced ¼” analog line inputs
2 balanced ¼” main (L/R) line outputs
4 additional balanced ¼” analog line outputs
MIDI in/out
¼” headphone output
For the tech geeks who are looking for some numbers and specs (more details refer to http://www.presonus.com/products/FireStudio-Tube/techspecs):
24-bit resolution and up to 96 kHz sampling rate
High-definition A/D/A converters (+114 dBu dynamic range)
JetPLL™ Jitter Elimination Technology (improved stereo imaging and clarity)
Zero-latency monitoring via 16x8 DSP matrix mixer/router
Mac®- and Windows®-compatible, 32 and 64 bit compatible.
Supports ASIO, Core Audio, Direct Sound (Windows XP), Windows Audio Session API (Windows Vista and Windows 7)
Physical Specs:
1U 19” rack-mountable, rugged steel chassis
Sealed, detented, metal rotary controls
Internal power supply with standard IEC power cord
It has been gently used for slightly less than 2 years, and I'm looking to let it go at $600.
