I'm offloading a Tokai CatsEye custom made guitar.
It has the exact same specs and design as the MARTIN J-40, except that it has an OM shape. Guitar has aged nicely, however there is a minor wood manufacturing defect near the 15-19 frets. (Its hard to spot unless stared at)
This is probably one of the best value for money options if you're looking for a full solid OM with awesome playability and design.
Specs are as follows:
Top: Solid Sitka Spruce
Backs & Sides: Solid East Indian Rosewood
Fingerboard & Bridge Material: Solid East Indian Rosewood
Neck: Mahogany
Nut & Saddle: Bone
Rosette, Headstock, Fingerboard & Top inlay: Select Abalone Pearl
Modifications made:
1) K&K Pure Western Mini with Volume Control.
-An awesome passive pickup that requires no batteries, and it can pick up body sounds as well.
2) Gold Ebony Tuning Machines
Overall this guitar sounds really good, with almost perfect playability. Neck feels perfect, around the same specs or even better than those of a Taylor. Try it to believe it. Awesome inlays on the top, rosette, fretboards and headstock.
Made in JAPAN.
I've spent almost S$1500 on this guitar.
Selling for S$930 with a Gator hardcase (with keys included, same as pictures) , or S$850 just the guitar alone.
Will fit in a new pair of Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze .12-.53
