Hey guys,
Selling one of my favourites, a 2008 Gibson Les Paul Classic in a Bullion Gold (Goldtop) finish.
Note: I got this photo off the net and it is NOT the actual guitar. However, mine looks identical with the addition of the numbers "1960" engraved on the pickguard in gold.
Feel-wise, the guitar is a joy to play. Les Pauls always seemed too chunky for me both in weight and feel, but this guitar is different. It is really comfortable and playable. The 1960s slim tapered neck profile makes playing, especially leads on the upper frets, much more comfortable. Furthermore, there is a slight flame on the neck which is nice to look at as you play. The chambered body is also a plus point, making the guitar much lighter than other Les Pauls and more comfortable to play on stage. The chambered body also allows for the guitar to resonate better. One of the reasons why I like this guitar so much is how it resonates so well even unplugged. The balance of the guitar between the neck and body is also ideal for me, with the body being slightly heavier, putting less stress on your fretting hand.
Sound-wise, this guitar roars AND purrs. I play mostly hi-gain metal and hard rock. I also play softer and lighter gospel music for church as well. This guitar covers all these playing styles and tones very well in my opinion. The massive low-end from the warm mahogany body and neck, paired with the searing top-end from the brighter carved maple cap complement each other very well sonically. When I'm chugging and soloing to Iron Maiden, Metallica, Guns n' Roses and Lamb of God, it delivers in spades. The high output ceramics (500T in the bridge and 496R in the neck) make your chords hit hard, yet with note clarity. Each note and string can be heard distinctly. Pinch harmonics jump out and are a breeze. When I play lighter and more bluesy stuff, the Les Paul also performs. The mahogany body provides for a warm and full clean and low-gain tone.
As a whole, I really like this guitar and it has been my workhorse for a while. Not forgetting how awesome the finish looks, along with the body and fretboard binding. It has all the Les Paul Standard cosmetic appointments, just more hot rodded! Take the pickguard off for Slash and pickguard on for Doug Aldrich, very nice. However, I have to let it go and I'm looking for someone to take good care of it. Plus, if you're a hi-gain player, there is no question.
Cosmetic condition wise, as I said this guitar is in player's condition. There are a couple of dings and marks on the body and headstock. However, I feel they add to the guitar's mojo haha. No tarnish on the bridge and stoptail though, still shiny as hell. I'm the original owner by the way. Everything is stock on the guitar.

Selling for $2400.
Original Gibson hardcase with case candies included.
Will string it up with new 10-46 GHS coated boomers too.
