Fezz, always remember that paragraphing is important!
psg74,
Interesting choice of actions though.. You insult someone and then ask him to calm down? Well yes, it may not sell for another few weeks or months. I don't disagree with that. You probably already know this, but just in case you don't.. "Knickers" is a term used to describe female undergarments. Neither jskadiang or myself are female, so i conclude that your use of the word/phrase is the result of either a flawed assumption or your lack of knowledge about the slang you are using.
It would have served you better if I had been negatively affected and pressured into lowering my price for the guitar, in fear that potential buyers in the future may see your comment and be influenced by it. Who, in the right frame of mind, would do something that would make themselves worse off? We are humans and our decisions are mostly based on self-interest.
Of course, we can also debate based on the theory of moral sentiments.. But it is pretty obvious (based on Rosenberg 1960), that self interest is mostly channeled into injurious outcomes. I should also state that the synonym of better is worse and not "worst". (As seen in wedding vows where its used in "for better or for worse").
Nobody wants an unknowing person to pay for an overpriced guitar. But what gives you the authority to deem this as overpriced? If it were obvious, there would be no need for you to state it. Would you buy something if you felt that you would not derive the same or a higher amount of utility from it as you would by spending the money elsewhere? No you wouldn't.
Value-judgements are what we are considering here and as the name suggests, it is subjective. We, as in individuals, all have different tastes and preferences. This then affects our thinking and helps us to decide what we want to purchase. There are many examples that show how different value judgements can be.
A brilliant example that comes to mind is the one right here. Your opinion is that you do not feel that my guitar is worth $999. I disagree, I feel that it is worth even more than that. Maybe you feel that my price is unreasonable, but that's your opinion.
Another example is how you posted in another guy's sale thread. "Don't give up your hobby, mate. This is really sad *sadface*" Well, he feels that playing guitar or music is no longer worth his time or money. He believes that he does not derive the same amount of utility from it that he would if he trades his gear for an iphone 4/4s. The concept of opportunity cost comes to mine (my bad, should've introduced this earlier.)

Taking a look at your ad above.... "(Better than most F brand models out there)." - How is it better? This is also a value-judgement. Everyone has different opinions, some people prefer Fenders, while others prefer similar S style guitars (I don't think it can be called a stratocaster if it isn't a fender or a squier guitar. (Even though it has the same shape) Similarly, I can't call you female based on the fact that you are human being and that you have two eyes, two ears and one mouth.
"This one is for a collector or someone who wants to be different (...can't understand why in Singapore everyone thinks the F brand is the best, well it ain't)" - What makes you think that someone who wants to be different will buy your vintage yamaha guitar? Your statement in brackets also further proves my point..
