This is a pedal along the lines of a tubescreamer but without the drawbacks. Instead, there is more flexibility and dynamics. Preserves the bass well and is highly transparent. Does not take over your tone like how a typical TS-808 would at higher gain settings. Cleans up with pick dynamics or roling back the volume on guitar. Dial in how much of a mid-hump that you want with the "bite" knob and cut the highs according to your tastes. Can also double up as a clean boost. Overall, a joy to play.
Xotic X-Blender
Hardly used Xotic X-Blender going for $200. Comes with box.
Great for mixing in dry signals with effects such as wahs or delays. Keep your clean tone pristine without passing through AD/DA converters if you are using digital delays. Add back some of the bass from the clean signal if you are heavy on filter effects like wahs or flangers. Onboard active EQ and volume further enhances its flexibility.
