This year's Formula Drift Singapore is coming to a new location at the Changi Exhibition Centre and will showcase top drivers from Japan, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. This group of star drivers include notable drifters such as Manabu Orido, Ken Gushi and reigning Formula Drift Asian Series 2011 winner Daigo Saito.
Daigo Saito is not only the 2011 Formula Drift Singapore champion but also the 2010 and 2011 Formula Drift Malaysia champion and 2011 Formula Drift Indonesia Champion. He has also recently participated in the FD USA 2012 pro series for the first time and finished and astonishing 2nd! Daigo has built a brand new car for this year's Asian Drift Series which is a 3.4L, 1200 BHP 2010 Lexus ISC. It is without a doubt the most powerful car on the Formula Drift grid. Painted black with a carbon fibre kit, it's a must-see car for this 2012 series!
Manabu Orido was a runner up for last year's Formula Drift Malaysia and also a well reputable judge in the Japanese D1 Grand Prix. He is also a winner of the JGTC GT500 Class and the SUPER GT500 Class in Japan. This will be Manabu's first time drifting in Singapore and as he is the only driver to drift in an inspired GT style Toyota which carries a powerful engine at 3.4L 680 BHP. This makes him a driver to look out for!
Ken is no push over's as well, he was the youngest competitor in both the D1 Grand Prix in Japan and the Formula Drift USA series at a tender age of 16. In 2011 he finished 3rd for Formula Drift Singapore and took first place in the 35th annual Toyota Pro Celebrity Race at the Long Beach Grand Prix. He is also a constant participant in the Formula Drift USA series and drives a Turbocharged Cosworth CS600 EJ25 2013 Scion FR-S.
