been using the gator cammo bass hardcase its been great, got stop countless times via custom, cos too fierce

the band started to tour heavily and i need something that is light and durable enuff to go thru airport baggage handlers on budget airline, think airasia, ezjet, etc.. and i want to keep all the gears below 15-20kg luggage allowance

going to downsize my board so i can dump into my luggage, i got that plan out accept pedaltrain mini is available in dec. so going to get a plywood, velco it and dump it into my backpack.

must be hardcase? if not you can get something like a tribal planet, mono, or some japanese semi-hard case. tribal planet need to get from overseas, mono from citymusic, some japanese semi-hard probably from japan of course

best thing is that its damn light. i own a tribal planet gig bag

light is great gong to check those recomendations out, it does need to survive airport baggage handler.. dun want to land and collect luggage and neck snap into 2 ;p

my bass hardcase is the skb bass vault. too bad it's heavy, but with wheels it's easy to move about.

remember to use the bass vault with a slim bass gig bag, as the vault is designed as a outer shell for your gig bag.

the bass vault is 6Kg. plus your bass guitar and slim gig bag it should still be within your luggage allowance. of course, there's no mention about your own luggage.

I'd vote for the Japanese semi hardcase if you're heading there anytime soon. I own one myself and JAL let me carry it on board and put it in their business class closet despite not seating in the business class.

but lordie is flying budget, thus has to be checked in. a semi-hardcase may not be able to withstand mishandling.

depending on the airline, getting a fragile sticker is usually enough to ensure that it is handled pretty well. not too sure about the budget airlines though
