For me, to say that emokids and metalheads go to their own respective gigs of their genre is as natural to say that my mum's generation prefer their hokkien music to pop music nowadays what... it's something an individual identifies with... so why should you have an issue with that?

Unless you're implying that EVERYBODY should go to EVERY gig to support EVERY band... then I think you ought to think in other people's shoes. Imagine you're an emokid at a metalhead gig... abit out of place no? Not to mention the stares you might get...

To put it simply, there's no one gig that suits every father mother son. To each his/her own and power to you if you are actually diverse enough to go anywhere you choose.
