Worth it?

Hi ppl. I own a yamaha pac412v and was wondering whether it was worth changing pickups? Telsa looks good so any suggestions? And does standardvalue shop have sales?

hmm i think changing pups are worth it...
yea tesla is great for the price.
are u looking to change all the pups or just the humbucker?
SV has sales, check them out at standardvalue.com.sg
if u want them to change pups for u its 20-25 bux a pickup..

if the only thing u're unsatisfied about the guitar is the tone then i suggest u change the p-ups but if there are other areas u're unsatisfied about, then change to a whole new axe altogether. it'll save u the cost of taking out the p-ups if u wanna sell it off.

25 bucks each is just the price of changing the pickups, does not include the price of the pickups themselves. So you'd probably be looking to pay about $250 to change all the pickups, depending on what pups you get.

well, worth it, in terms of tone, or value? from what i've read, teslas are very good for the money.

however, it'll be more worth it tone-wise if u got an amp upgrade rather than a pickup upgrade. (i'm assuming u use a cheap small amp, sorry). if u dont, ignore this suggestion. a crappy guitar into a good amp > a good guitar into a crappy amp. this is the truth

^^^^ lol thats the answer ive seen thats the most common

why do u think so? we're kindly advising ppl to do so for their tone and money's sake.

yes and all those who agree with me are all tired of telling ppl that already..

the fact is no one listens. my conclusion? ppl like knowing their guitar is "upgraded" and they think its cool to change pickups.

just take ur lousy stock pickup guitar to blackwood one day, and plug it into a orange rockerverb and hear for urself. their crappy 10w sx amps are to blame! not the pickups.

i had a friend who changed his pickups 4 times, unsatisfied with his tone. he was asking me for recommendations. the final time he told me that he was using a 10w sx amp. amazing..

I agree with dudelove. It's useless to change the pickups if you are using a crappy amp. There is no difference tonewise. And yes, the pickups changing topic has been discussed so many times that I got sick of it.

lol bro calm down..all im saying is that a lot of ppl post that...nt saying its wrong or anything
hope this isnt about the jonas thing haha lmao jkjk

However if most of you goes jamming it is most probably okay to change pickups first if the amp at home are just for practice. u dun have to achieve tone nirvana at home first when u are practically using amps outside.

i agree with you fully.

but many ppl do not know this. and there are some ppl i know who are total bedroom players and still insist on pickups>amp. *hint* *hint* hehe..

and its pretty obvious, most newbies tend to blame their pickups for bad tone ahead of anything else. so i'm, or rather, we are trying to correct their judgements.

however, the worst of all are those, who have no idea what they hope to achieve from changing their pickups. they just think stock pickups suck.. so must change.

Thats basically what threadstarter needs to know or u could stick to what i have said earlier.

Its a question of if you are into jamming or just a bedroom player.

If you do have the funds though, upgrade both the amp and pickups

hey peace man. Just wanna say i do not think stock pick up sucks i just wanna get a rounder tone and a wider range choices with a combination of vintage to insane metal. I played my guitar through marshal avt100 and it sounds awesome but not as thick as i want it to be. But my friend said get pedals. Isn't all these add ons? I thought it would be cool to start of with a good guitar with good pickups and the rest can add slowly. Or should i just focus on amp and efx

sorry man. i dont really like the marshall avt. if i were u i'd get dirt pedals. the amps drive, really cmi compared to other solid state/hybrid amps.
