my opinion: u might have to drill another hole for the screws..

besides..i tink the alignment seems different.

look at the holes for the screws..ur neck has only 1.. but the tuning peg has 2..

wad abt the shaft diameter? have u checked?

shaft diameter is an issue. if shaft is too thick , will need to drill and widen the hole. another thing to look out for is the string ferrules , some times shaft no problem but string ferules too big.. cannot go in.. lan lan also must widen the holes.

best is to measure the diameter of the hole and then find the best suitable tuners.

the gold tuner in the picture looks like the kluson types... although all look very similiar as its the same vintage kluson design i assume.

no need to drill extra hole as only the first and last tuner needs one screw to stay in place, 2,3,4,5 will need on both sides.

I read that the original klusons are not as good as the newer 'kluson style' brands. Never tried them though.

Gotoh and fender should both be alright. But someone sold me a set of supposedly fender tuners (packet was open but it came with box and fender label) where the ferrules were slightly larger and I had to enlarge the hole slightly.

Those wilkinson's should be made in korea and I think the quality should be alright. As for whether they fit your neck, I dont think so.

Why?
1. I suspect the ferrules will be too small. Your neck was fitted with modern tuners previously and normally the shaft hole size is bigger than vintage 'kluson style' tuners ferrules so they ferrules will be loose.
2. The securing screw holes are in the wrong position. If I remember correctly, the screw holes should be somewhere at the centre position between the shaft holes.

If you really want to use the 'kluson style' tuners, you'll may need to dowel and redrill certain hole. Nothing you cant do yourself with a drill and a drill press.

But hey, I've been wrong before. So take the neck to the shop and try it yourself.

Good luck.

Ya... this is what I was thinking. But it's an irreversible change. Since it's gold hardware the threadstarter is going for, why not just get gold Gotohs? If it's already pre-drilled for Gotohs, then no point changing.

UNLESS you want to go for shaller locking tuners...

so US made like?and wad im afraid is the hole is too big for the string post, and btw wad is string ferrule?
