why oh why must a guitar like this pop up when money is set aside for other things...oh so bloody tempting.

deceptive pic, candy red finishes are darker in person and not pink..but hard to photograph.

this is a true oddity...owner claims it to be a RG560 but the reverse headstock with sharktooth inlay/binding dont match up.. and the body.. very few production ibanezes around that era had body binding. probably a oneoff or limited run.

15 hours to make a decision to get a sibling for my 565.... goddammit.

wouldnt they look pretty together?

i passed..the auction went absolutely insane in the last minute and it sold for A$585..way more than what i was willing to pay.

from what i gather, its a japanese only limited run of the RG560. the body binding is mother of pearl!

my 565 shall remain lonely for now...

why no more maple fingerboard ibanez?

nice guitars...

anyone know
why no more maple fingerboard RG?
seems like these days there are more rosewood, and wider neck...

i believe the only production RG with a maple fretboard left is the RG1550. basically a 550 moved up to prestige spec and price, hardly worth it in my opinion.

but true, ibanezes' stubborn policy of rosewood fretboard RGs is quite inexplicable. if they made an RG with an ebony fretboard/no inlays i'd be all over it in a heartbeat,as would many ibanez fans around the world. instead they seem to be content with releasing the same tired old RG variations year after year...im utterly sick of the whole rosewood fb/maple neck/basswood body/edge pro combination, prestige with fancy top or otherwise.

there's just something about the feel and playability of these late 80's/early 90's fujigen ibanezes that cant be duplicated..plus the much more interesting range of finishes they had, and edge/lopro edge trems instead of the edge pros which i find vastly inferior.

Grrrr.... reminds me.

Who knows, what is that Prestiege SA that has a maple fretboard?!?!?!

Its in this year's NAMM.. and its on ibanezrules.

WHAT MODEL IS THAT?!?!?! Even google ain't helping and Rich ain't saying!

marketing. u can choose to give your customers what they want, or play games and release a FEW models with special specs that'll be grabbed up in due time.

and i find any ibanez guitar with maple fretboard simply HAWT. somehow, if they had all their guitars with maple fretboards, i think the world would be a better place

AH!
I forgot all about the high res pics!

Excellent man! Shall do some research...

IMO, I think the SA with HSS, tremolo and 22 frets , basically has its all done for superb tone (esp the neck pup) and versatility.
