Whos Les Paul STUDIO Is this????

I bought this Wine red(so it's called) Gibson Les Paul STUDIO yesterday through a contact on soft. It's supposed to be 1998 made, as per the serial number. Ten year old Les paul... must have been through a few hands over it's lifespan. So I thought maybe I can trace it's origins, and perhaps correspond with a few of them.. A few stand out features on this guitar
Cigarette burn marks on the body
Cracked headstock.. fixed somewhere in Peninsula Plaza, and badly repainted- paints all over the tuners
Serial No. 91388383- Serial number has been masked by repeated shoddy paint jobs.
Truss Rod cover broken/missing.
Dotted inlays.. ON A LES PAUL????
Reason why am doing this.. I'd feel nostalgic if I were to come across a guitar I owned ten years ago. So I'd like to give the first and subsequent owners a chance to reconnect with their once prized possession. It's a les paul afterall, so it has got to be treasured by everyone who owned it. The second reason.. well I would like know what caused the damage on the neck, how it was fixed and when exactly it happened. I wish to use gauge ten strings instead of the gauge ninse strings it now has.. so would like to know if it can withstand the higher forces the heavier strings would inflict.
Please understand I knew what I was buying and am not regretting it. even if it gives way tomorrow, I'd be fine and just go ahead and replace the neck with a warmoth. So please feel free to share your memories. Pics posted below.. if it doesnt open, do contact me.. i shall email them to anyone who's interested.

if the headstock has been repaired properly then it can even handle 11 gauge.
i know cos one of mine has a repaired headstock with ernie ball power slinky's on it for the last few yrs.

heh.. I wish there was a way to tell if the neck was fixed properly :-) It looks ok though.. anyway the inlay thing is sorted out.. just saw another 98 model with dotted inlays, so it's the real neck alright.. Guess it'll be a good idea to save for a spare neck and stop worrying about the crack.

i think lp studios have dotted inlay not trapezium ones. but i m not sure whether they have gold hardwares.

btw, i thought yuor guitar looks beautiful.

Thank you :-) The website shows them with Gold hardware and trapezoidal inlay. But i saw a guitar exactly like mine- model and year made, up for sale in the US which had dotted inlays.. so I guess they made that change in the later models.. It was called Cherry red then, now called Wine red.

By the way.. Still looking for ppl who owned this guitar in the past! :D

aww thanks!!!!!.. can i ever resist being flattered HEE :D Any chance you've seen this guitar before?? Just got this crazy idea to reconnect with all those who have had it in the past... some activity to make the summer bearable
I traded my ibanez RG570EX and a small top up and a pedal... dont know if it's a fair deal or not.. but i had come to a point where I found the ibanez just too flashy.. so was desperate to rid myself off it and get a les paul.

Even with the scars and wear, it still looks like a really beautiful les paul man.

If you're able to locate the previous owner, do share the stories here!

Hello Armpitman!! Now why didn't I think of that for an ID?? :) cool one !
I like that scar myself.. it's the smearing of paint on tuners that i dont like, and of course the broken headstock.. too bad no one seems to recognise this guitar yet.. the thread has had a few hundred visits already .. and still no one remembers !
