i got a old drum set which i just clean up today and found white ants inside the drum
is there any way to clean n prevent it?

i thought white ants and termite are the same thing?was changing the drum head and notice a few white type of ants or termite inside.dun think throwing it away would be a gd idea as i cant afford another drumset.is there be any gd way to get rid of the ants.was thinking of soaking the whole set into water and letting it dry up

had the same problem with my piano.treating the piano going to cost me 500 so i throw it away.To diy cover the drum in big black bin bag, spray with insectice and seal it.do it for two weeks this is to kill the egg.spray every 3 days

Termites are not ants. They're an entirely different insect altogether. They eat wood. If you see small, raised channels on the surface of the wood running in different directions, then you have termites. Also if you see tiny holes in the edge of the drum shell with the white buggers crawling around, you got termites. ........ If you got an infestation in that set, keeping it around is an even worse idea than keeping it.

+1. And they dont only feed on wood.

If they're termites, get rid of the set ASAP. If one goes wary, keep an eye out in case of infestation in other areas.
Getting the pest controllers IN would cost more than the drumset and wont solve the prblem overnight.
Follow-up is required.
