Which one? Schecter, Edwards, Bacchus.

Hey peeps,

thanks for viewing my post and you may be the one changing my opinion.

Alright, I'm planning my next guitar and yes, I'm stumbled on these three choices,

Schecter
http://www.schecter.co.jp/sdnv/sd224bw_red.html

Edwards

Bacchus (G-Deluxe/M)

http://www.japanvintageguitars.com/Bacchus Global Series.html

Here's the point,

All of them are the same design and its Japanese guitars, yes, that's what I wanted,
but they have different

-Pickups
-Tremolo systems
-Body's back wood

And of course some of the other minor stuff.

So here's my question, in terms of tone,

What's the difference between

-The back wood? (Alder & basswood, tone wise, etc)
-The pickups? ( which is hotter? etc)
-Tremolo? (sustain? etc)

I great appreciate any help that I'd be receiving from this thread! ;)

i personally go for Edwards as they have the quality in the name and of course better second hand market value should you be selling it in the future.

The Bacchus Global series are made in the Philippines though... However, Bacchus have discontinued their higher-end models with HSH configuration. So, if you could afford the Edwards, why not add the Japanese Ibanez to your list?

honestly speaking in terms of wood and construction, I feel that Bacchus is the best option. Yes it has to be the Japanese made ones. They have a certain magic to them that MIJ Fenders just don't have.

Pickups and hardware you can change at any given point in time so I won't be too worried about that.

end of the day, all of them are good guitars. best resale value goes to Edwards though. A practical choice would be the Edwards.

zaidi534, I will try to source for it if I could. I'm not a fan of Ibanez though,I play japanese music and Ibanez gives you the...

"American" tone, sort of.

relinquish69, honestly I wouldn't want to change the hardwares at all >.>

I don't think I would be selling my guitar too, I like collecting them. :)

But ultimately I'm actually most concern about the wood factor.

Will the difference of this 3 guitar's wood be a big factor of tone?

This is determined by the amp you're playing through.

Yes wood does make a big difference in tone. Read up on the different tone woods!

J.custom, hmmmm, from what I see, maple and basswood is a better combination. Probably i will go with the Schecter one.

basswood: http://theguitaraddict.blogspot.com/2008/10/wood-talk-basswood.html

it's not made in japan but any considerations for a Spector?

Perhaps you could tell us what setup you use, so we'd have a clearer big picture of what kind of guitar would be best to combine with your existing gears? Unless you're starting from scratch.
