hello, i am a boy looking towards getting a 2nd hand multi effects processor, but the problem is i don't know which to choose. someone posted a similar thread but he already had a few narrowed down choices of what he wanted in mind, while i have totally no clue to which i am looking for. however what i have is that i know what i expect of the processor.
firstly, i am looking for something which has a great variety of effects, with quantity over quality. this is because i play more music which involves effects ranging from modulation to ambient sounds over plain metal and speed stuff. thus, i am looking for different effects for me to play around with instead of a simple godlike distortion pedal.
secondly, i don't intend to be recording anything thus any recording function is not really applicable here. maybe in the future la.
thirdly, the ease of use doesn't have to be easy (but not too hard as well la), as i intend to spend time learning how to use it properly. thus, i would rather something which requires a lot of time figuring out and gives a lot at the end over something which is easy to use and requires little comprehension but only gives very little (in terms of capabilities).
fourthly, i don't know if multi-fx generally allow simultaneous switching/using of different effects, for eg. i am playing this kind of distortion with this kind of delay, but can i keep to this kind of distortion while switching to a different kind of delay? but if it can, yeah that's what i'm looking for.
lastly, my price range is below 400 ( for 2nd hand, and a little more than 400 doesn't matter). just in case you need to know more, i play stuff like incubus, u2, mr. big, oasis, maroon 5 and eschew stuff like, i don't know, your typical speed metal or faster kind of rock? yup.
i've heard a lot about the gt-8, and i think it may be sufficient for me, but just intended to find out more about other choices here. hopefully i could learn about the pros and cons of the different choices from the experience of everyone else here. lastly, i thanks all of you who bothered reading this whole chunk of shit. hope it was specific enough and not too hard to understand - i am lengthy yet poor with words haha.
cheers, Marcus.
