None of them ever moved me in terms of tone. But ease of use and build-wise, I'd vote Line 6 FloorPOD. I liked everything about mine but the heavy distortion tones.

Boss ME-50. Ultimately, it's the ease of use. Lack of amp modelling may be a deterrent but if you happy with your amp, then it's not a total loss.

i'd say vox... tonelab SE or LE. both feature tubes which really do sound pretty good if your amp is good and if you tweak well..
they arent cheap though..

If you're particular about tone, go for a Boss GT-8 instead. Line 6's multi-effects are easy to use, but tonewise loses out to GT-8 in the sense that the GT-8 sounds less digital.

I would recommend both the gt-6 and gt-8. tonewise they sound alright for me. gotta be realistic though since they are digital to start with.

I'd also vote the ME-50 if you have a good amp, because yeah, its part analog and brings out the tone of the amp, unlike fully digital MFX with amp simulators that produces its own tone.

Bright thing about MFX with amp simulators is that its best plugged direct into a mixer or speaker. But tonewise, it'll still be an exotic taste. (There are people who like the digital tone, and I'm not one of them).

tested out gt-8 and pod x3 live.IMO,i think pod xl3 has warmer and lesser digital tones than gt-8.well prefernce.thats y i bought 1.nvr hav the regret.cheers \m/

Hmm but seems like pod x3 live are still having some issue , if i am playing more to old skool rock or metal like metallica what will be the ideal multi-effects to use .

Quite trouble with this , hope to have some advise from bros here .

No one mentioned Digitech? I just got an RP350 and it's awesome. It uses Digitech's specially designed DSP chip and the amp models sound very realistic (for a multi effects) Definitely great for any sort of metal, they have a digitech metal amp model that sounds absolutely awesome, also models various distortion pedals too. For a modeling effects pedal, it doesn't kill off your tone as much as you would expect it to. =) The blues and jazzy sounds respond very well to picking dynamics (although not as well as a real effects loop into a tube amp lah!)

Also there's a direct USB connection to your computer which allows you to stream music up/down at 44 KHz for recording/mixing. It also comes with stereo mixer outputs, tuner, drum machine etc... definitely a great product. Only problem is that it's ridiculously expensive in Singapore. I got it for $150 in the states but apparently Swee Lee's MSRP is like 600+ (o_O).

here's a link to the member community where you can here the sounds people are recording with this.

p.s. As a piece of advice, you should test any multi effects pedal extensively before buying (if possible). I once nearly bought a zoom 707II (years ago) but on testing found the sound to be extremely unsatisfactory despite the pretty good reviews it had at the time...

Cheers!
